Why is an O-ring not included in the box?  The short answer is- O-rings are not one time use only and typically meant to be reinstalled.  Another reason is cost.  Several years ago our supplier nearly doubled our pricing while also massively increasing minimum order quantity.  Additionally, many late model Ford applications do not use an O-ring, but require a fitted gasket which is even more expensive.  This situation makes it no longer cost effective to include any kind of gasket.  It doesn’t make sense to increase the price of an already expensive thermostat just to provide the customer something that they may not even be able to use.  So we are happy to offer our remaining stock of O-rings, as a courtesy at no cost, until we run out.
